Where will the 2028 Olympics be held?

Los Angeles, located in the west coast state of California in the United States, will host the next Summer Olympics. L.A. previously hosted the Olympics in 1932 and 1984 and will join Paris (1900, 1924, 2024) and London (1908, 1948, 2012) as the only three cities to host the Olympics three times. 

Some of the most iconic and historic arenas in the City of Angels will be used for different sporting events, including: 

  • Track and field at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum, which will become the only stadium to host track and field events in three separate Olympics
  • Gymnastics at the DTLA Arena, also known as the Crypto.com Arena
  • Swimming at SoFi Stadium, which will be transformed into the largest swimming venue in Olympic history
  • Marathon on the Venice Beach Boardwalk
  • Rugby at the Dignity Health Sports Park

Softball and canoe slalom events will take place more than 1,000 miles away from the host city. The two sports will use venues in Oklahoma City for their Olympic competitions. 

The Rose Bowl is expected to host the semifinals and medal matches for soccer, but fans can expect soccer and basketball to be played in different parts of the state or country to accommodate the number of games played on the same day.

The Opening Ceremony for the 2028 Games is set for Friday, July 14, 2028, and the event will be hosted by both the LA Memorial Coliseum and SoFi Stadium.
