The 2026 Winter Olympics was full of magical and inspiring moments across the dual host cities of Cortina and Milan. The latter is known as the global epicenter of high fashion, so it was appropriate that athletes used the Games as a chance to showcase their style as well as their elite athleticism.
Here are the athletes who weren’t afraid to serve looks and show off their bold personalities in the fashion capital of the world.
Amber Glenn (USA)
During her short program at the Milan Cortina Olympics, Amber Glenn wore a dress inspired by Madonna while skating to her hit “Like a Prayer.” Glenn skated in a burgundy lace costume with sleeves draped off the shoulder, frill around the wrists and bold chain statement necklaces artfully placed over her collarbone.
Lisa McKinnon, designer for the Blade Angels, sketched Glenn’s dress while listening to Madonna. She wanted to create the story of Glenn, which is one of perseverance, grit and overcoming challenges. The dress embodied both strength and vulnerability, as well as going against the status quo. Kaitlyn Weaver, former Olympic ice dancer and current choreographer for Glenn, collaborated on the short program routine’s choreography with one of Madonna’s backup dancers.
Glenn paired the outfit with her signature winged eyeliner look. It reminds her she’s a fighter and has conquered battles against nerves, distractions and her own mind.
Alex Hall (USA)
Alex Hall, the American freestyle skier known for his creativity and technical skill, is no stranger to high fashion. Leading up to the 2026 Winter Olympics, Hall posed in London with model Angelina Kendall for the British Vogue October 2025 issue. The shoot called, “skiing in the streets” was styled by Tom Guinness and illustrated the collision between sport and style.
When Hall won silver during the men’s slopestyle event, he wore a navy blue coat with red stripes and white stars down the sleeves. Hall was looking fresh as he stayed true to his stylish approach to freestyle skiing.
Deanna Stellato-Dudek (Canada)
42-year-old Canadian figure skater Deanna Stellato-Dudek competed in a dress designed by Oscar de la Renta for her pairs short program. This collaboration was made possible by Amanda Desmarais, a Skate Canada board member and frequent Oscar de la Renta shopper. The brand partnered with Stellato-Dudek for the 2025-2026 season and 2026 Winter Olympics, marking the brand’s first-ever figure skating costume in its 60-year history.
The hand-beaded gold dress stunned on the ice and perfectly complimented her and Maxime Deschamps's short program to "Carmina Burana."
Stellato-Dudek took a 16-year hiatus from the sport to pursue a career as an aesthetician. In 2024, she became the oldest female figure skater (age 40) to win a World Championship title.
Ilia Malinin (USA)
Both Ilia Malinin’s short program and free skate costumes were created by Japanese designer Ito Satomi. The designer is a student of haute couture and the ice is her runway. Satomi notably designed the outfits for two-time Olympic champion Yuzuru Hanyu.
For his free skate, Malinin showcased his “warrior” persona. His all black outfit with gold-accented, flame-like details had blue gems blossoming at the center of his chest.
Malinin has refused to let the nerves and pressure define him. He delivered a haunting performance at the Olympics Exhibition Gala. He traded in the glitz and glamour for a charcoal hoodie with the word “fear” written upside down in the center and a pair of jeans for his final performance of the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Eileen Gu (China)
Eileen Gu is the only female skier who competed in all three freestyle events: slopestyle, big air, and halfpipe. The 22-year-old competed in her second Olympics with a custom jacket and pants she designed with Anta. The white and cobalt piece celebrated China’s porcelain artistry. The modern athlete rooted herself in centuries-old craftsmanship.
The blue traditional dragons embroidered with gold accents along her sleeves represented power, ambition and good fortune. Her name was scrawled under the flap of her neck with bold, graffiti-like lettering. The bicep was decorated with a Chinese-style fierce dragon patch just below another patch of her name. On her wrist was a color-changing thermometer patch and compass. She also added a playful touch by carrying a Labubu, another nod to her culture which caught the attention of fans.
The one-of-one custom jacket perfectly embodied Gu’s roots, uniqueness and accolades. Gu has a "6 for 6" record, winning a medal in all six Olympic events she has entered. Gu captured the gold in the women's halfpipe on Sunday in a historic run, making her the most decorated freeskier ever.
Mattia Giovanella (Italy)
Mattia Giovanella is an Italian curler from the northern Italian village of Cembra competing in his second Olympics, this time in hometown region Trentino-Alto Adige.
Footwear is a very crucial part of the sport, as athletes need specialist curling shoes that have grips either built into the soles or ones that can be strapped on. Giovanella had his shoes customized for the Milan Cortina Olympics. Italian artist Federica Dal Paos hand painted them with the patriotic tricolor.
After a game against Great Britain, Giovanella held up his shoes, showcasing his hometown pride.
Samuel Uduigowme Ikpefan (Nigeria)
Sam Ikpefan competed in his second Olympics as Nigeria’s sole competitor. The 34-year-old was born in Annemasse in the French Alps, so he is used to trekking through snow. He competed in cross-country skiing in two events: men’s 10km and the men’s sprint.
Having an athlete compete in the Winter Olympics marked a historic milestone for Africa’s most populated country. Ikpefan's goals going into this Milan Cortina Games was to give his absolute best, push his limits and proudly represent Nigeria. He showed off his country’s colors by competing in a green and black suit.
Alysa Liu (USA)
Gold hair, gold dress, gold medal.
Alysa Liu is well known for her alt style: halo-ring hair, thick eyeliner and smiley piercing. Liu proudly brought her unique style to the 2026 Winter Olympics. She wore a gold dress with jewels and embellishments across the bodice and a fringe skirt to the women’s figure skating free skate finals on Thursday. The outfit was complete with Liu’s hair up in a playful ponytail, which she tossed at the end of her Donna Summer medley program.
Liu stunned as she became the first U.S. women’s figure skater to win Olympic gold since Sarah Hughes in 2002.
Snoop Dogg (USA)
Give it up for the honorary Team USA coach Snoop “the D-O-Double-G” who came back for the 2026 Winter Olympics with more pizzaz than ever!
Snoop Dogg popped out in the Italian alps with swaggy style. He attended the women’s snowboard halfpipe final at Livigno Snow Park to support Chloe Kim in a blue zip up jacket patterned with white stars and her face plastered on the front. He also had on a paisley bandana, sunglasses and a beanie, along with an NBC Milan Cortina snowflake chain. His gloves read “Coach Snoop,” which is part of his exclusive Coach Snoop x Team USA collection. Fans can shop the Snoop-approved apparel online for some fresh fits.
Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg reunited as commentators during NBC’s broadcast of the women’s figure skating short program on Tuesday. The duo sat with matching bedazzled headsets and were surprised by figure skater Ilia Malinin, who came to join in on the fun.
