In addition to the U.S.'s win over Japan, there were six other matches played in the women's curling competition at the Milan Cortina Olympics on Saturday. Here's a look at all of them...
Great Britain 7, Canada 6 (Session 1)
Great Britain found the perfect time to pick up its first win of the Milan Cortina Games. Team GB held Canada to just single points in all but the 10th end on the way to a one-point victory over the two-time defending world champions.
Rebecca Morrison's team took its first lead in the third. Rachel Homan went for a double-takeout on Canada's final throw of the end, but was only able to clear one, leaving Great Britain lying two. Morrison added a third with a draw on the hammer that put Great Britain up, 3-1.
Team GB stole another point in the fourth and was up 4-2 at the halfway break. They added another pair in the eighth.
Canada looked to be mounting a comeback in the final ends. Homan made a draw for a single in the ninth that pulled her team within three, 7-4. In the 10th, Canada sat three ahead of Morrison's hammer throw. Morrison took out one, holding Homan's team to a steal of two and the one-point defeat.
Great Britain had 43 takeouts to just 21 for Canada. Morrison finished with 11, and Jennifer Dodds and Sophie Sinclair had 16 each for a team that had an 85 percent takeout-success rate.
Great Britain, the defending Olympic gold medalists, advanced to 1-2. Team GB took the afternoon session off and will return to face Sweden at 8:05 a.m. ET on Sunday.

Switzerland 8, Canada 7 (11 ends) (Session 2)
It was a tale of two halves for Canada and Switzerland on Saturday evening.
Rachel Homan was called for a hog-line violation in the first end, and responded by throwing an otherwise perfect first half for Canada, helping her team score one in the first, steal one in the second, and steal two more in the third.
Canada went into the half up, 4-2, and added another single point in the sixth.
The Swiss squad turned the game around in the seventh, though. Homan's final throw missed a takeout and overran the house, leaving Switzerland a shot at multiple points with the hammer. Alina Patz stepped up and threw her stone perfectly to push out one Canadian stone and tap another, leaving her team with four points and a 6-5 lead.
The two teams traded single points in the eighth and ninth, and Canada added another critical single in the 10th to force an extra end.
Patz, who shot just 58 percent on draws in the match, made her shot when she needed to. She came up with a double-takeout on the penultimate throw, and drilled the button on her hammer throw for one point and the win in the 11th.
Patz finished with 13 takeouts. Switzerland shot 80 percent as a team.
The loss was the third straight for Canada (1-3), who came in as the two-time defending world champions. Homan's team will get Sunday off to regroup and will be back on Monday at 3:05 a.m. ET to take on China.
The Swiss squad improves to 3-1, and will also get Sunday off. They'll take on Sweden at 3:05 a.m. ET on Monday.
