NBC Olympics has announced the commentary team for all ice hockey games on the network during the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan Cortina. The line-up consists of Kenny Albert, Eddie Olczyk, AJ Mleczko, Brian Boucher, Jen Botterill, Kathryn Tappen, Brendan Burke, Chris Vosters, Anson Carter, T.J. Oshie, and Angela Ruggiero.

The hockey play-by-play team will be led by Albert, who has called hockey for every Olympic Winter Games since 2002. Milan Cortina will be a record seventh Olympic Games for the play-by-play voice. Eddie Olczyk, a 1984 U.S. Olympian and U.S. Hockey Hall of Famer, will join Albert in the booth for men's games. Olympian and gold medalist, AJ Mleczko, will join Albert in the booth for women’s games in her eighth assignment for NBC Olympics.

Kathryn Tappen will be the on-site reporter for Team USA men’s and women’s games, medal-round competition, and additional matchups. She's covered seven Olympics with NBC, including four consecutive covering hockey.

Brian Boucher will provide analysis from “Inside the Glass” as he returns for his third consecutive Winter Olympics. Jen Botterill, a three-time Olympic gold medalist with Team Canada, makes her NBC Olympics debut in February, serving as an “Inside the Glass” analyst for women’s games beginning with the quarterfinals.

Brendan Burke is returning for his third Olympics and Chris Vosters for his fourth, the pair also will handle play-by-play in the men’s and women’s hockey tournaments.

Additional analysts for the Olympic hockey tournament include: 11-year NHL veteran Anson Carter, 16-year NHL veteran and Olympian T.J. Oshie, and Angela Ruggiero, a four-time Olympic medal winner with Team USA and a U.S. Hockey Hall of Famer.

The Olympic hockey women's tournament begins on Feb. 5 and culminates with the gold medal game on Feb. 19. The men's tournament begins on Feb. 11 and closes out the Games with the final on Feb. 22. Hockey is one of the few sports that will begin a day before the Opening Ceremony, which is on Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, and will end on the same day as the Closing Ceremony.

NHL players will compete in the Games for the first time since 2014, which means multiple stars will make their Olympic debuts for Team USA in February. Only six players have been named to the U.S. roster so far, including Auston Matthews, the U.S. captain during the 4 Nations Face-Off, back-to-back Stanley Cup winner Matthew Tkachuk joins his brother Brady Tkachuk, along with Jack Eichel, Quinn Hughes and Charlie McAvoy.

Sidney Crosby will return for his third Olympics with Canada after winning gold in 2010 and 2014. Connor McDavid will represent Canada in his first Olympics in Milan after scoring the game winner in February’s 4 Nations Face-Off final against the U.S.

On the women's side, Hilary Knight has a medal in every color, and if the U.S. team reaches the podium in Milan, she will tie the record for most hockey medals in history (5). If selected to represent Team USA in Milan, she will become the first U.S. hockey player to compete at five Winter Olympics. Kendall Coyne Schofield is another veteran leader for the U.S.. She's won a gold medal (2018) and earned two silver medals (2014, 2022) during her three prior Olympic appearances. She’s also won seven world titles. She served as team captain for the team’s 2022 Olympic silver-medal run.
