The United States' speed skating team officially kicked off its Olympic campaign with the 2026 U.S. Championships Long Track & World Cup Qualifier in Kearns, Utah.

Reigning World Cup champion Jordan Stolz grabbed gold medals in three events during the three-day event, while three-time Olympian Brittany Bowe and world-record holder Casey Dawson skated to two titles each.

Stolz, who won a record 18-straight World Cup races last season, continued his dominant streak with gold in three races: the 1000m, in which he holds the national and overall world records; the 1500m, in which he holds the national and sea-level world record; and the mass start.

The 21-year-old phenom also captured silver in the 500m, bringing his total to four medals in the first competitive event in which he's skated since March.

Bowe, who owns two Olympic bronzes, began her season with three podium finishes: golds in the 1000m and 1500m, and silver in the 500m behind Olympic gold medalist Erin Jackson. Jackson finished runner-up to Bowe in the 1000m for her second medal of the weekend.

Dawson — who at the 2025 World Single Distances Championship helped the United States to its first gold medal in team pursuit since 2011, as well as a world record in the distance at a World Cup event last season — dominated the longer races, securing gold in the 5000m and 10000m. He grabbed a third medal in the 1500m, skating to silver.

Also at the event, Czechia's Metodej Jilek snapped his own world record in the men's 3000m, racing the distance in 3:32.52 minutes — almost two seconds faster than the time he posted in September 2025.
