US Speedskating officially has named the 21 skaters who will compete in the 2025-26 ISU Speed Skating World Cup, a five-leg competition circuit which serves as a key step on the way to the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Through the first-four World Cup events, which precede the International Olympic Committee's qualification deadline, skaters can earn qualification points for their countries, based on rankings and time. Those points determine how many skaters each country may send to Milan Cortina in February.

The first four World Cup events also provide American skaters the opportunity to clinch their spots on the United States' Olympic roster. Skaters may earn an Olympic berth in two ways:

  • Earn a medal at the 2025 ISU World Single Distances Championships AND place in the top five at any two of the first four World Cups in the same distance
  • Finish in the top three at any two of the first four World Cups in the same distance

However, those skaters must also compete in the same distance at Olympic Trials Jan. 2-6, 2026, in order to remain eligible to compete at the Olympics.

Leading the men's field is reigning overall World Cup champion Jordan Stolz, who last season skated to a record 18-straight World Cup wins. He also set sea-level world records in three distances last season, all at a World Cup event at his home oval in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Also back for more is the trio of Ethan Cepuran, Casey Dawson, and Emery Lehman, who earned the country's fourth-consecutive World Cup title in the men's team pursuit competition last season.

On the women's side are Erin Jackson, the reigning Olympic champion in the 500m, and Brittany Bowe, a two-time Olympic bronze medalist. Last year, Jackson earned her second-straight (and third overall) World Cup title in the women's 500m. Bowe owns multiple World Cup titles in the 1000m and 1500m and has raced to 88 podium finishes.

The World Cup kicks off at the Olympic Oval in Salt Lake City, Utah, Nov. 14-16. Inzell, Germany, is set to host the fifth and final World Cup event Jan. 23-25.

US Speedskating determined its World Cup team based on results from the 2026 U.S. Championships Long Track & World Cup Qualifier, held at the Olympic Oval in Utah Oct. 24-26.
