The U.S. women's relay squad skated to silver in Poland, securing the country's first relay medal of the season on the first medal session day at the World Tour in Gdansk, Poland.

Made up of Corinne Stoddard, Kristen Santos-Griswold, Kamryn Lute, and Julie Letai, the American quartet finished just 0.11 seconds behind the first-place Dutch, who earned their second women's relay medal this campaign.

The Netherlands finished last season without a single medal in the event.

Stoddard also earned her fourth bronze medal of the season earlier in the day, squeaking out a third-place finish in the women's 1000m.

The 24-year-old began the race as she always does, taking the lead and playing defense. She protected her spot well through the first eight laps, but a last-lap push from Belgium's Hanne Desmet and Canada's Courtney Sarault bumped her back to third.

She maintained her medal position through the finish, but messily, caught her skate on the ice and fell just after she had crossed the finish line.

Desmet's win marked her — and Belgium's — first gold of the 2025 World Tour season. Desmet, 29, is the reigning world champion in the distance and earned bronze at the 2022 Olympics.

Santos-Griswold raced in the B Final, but as she attempted to overtake Dutch skater Xandra Velzeboer for first place, her left skate kicked the back of her right boot, sending both herself and Velzeboer into the boards.

Reigning Crystal Globe champion, William Dandjinou, the Canadian skater who currently leads the World Tour rankings, flew to his fourth- and fifth-straight gold medals, winning the men's 500m and 1500m in his signature commanding fashion.

In both events, the 24-year-old took the lead off the start and maintained it throughout the race, gradually widening the gap between him and the other skaters until it was insurmountable.

Dandjinou now leads in the race to the 2025 Crystal Globe by 210 points.

Italy's Thomas Nadalini, who finished in 2nd behind Dandjinou in the 1500m, earned his first-ever individual international medal on the senior level.
