USA Luge finalized its nominations for the 2026 Winter Olympics, sending its largest team ever to Milan Cortina following a months-long qualification process that stretched from North America to Europe. The roster blends Olympic veterans and first-time qualifiers, shaped by five decisive World Cup races including the Olympic test event in Cortina, that ultimately determined who earned the right to race on the sport’s biggest stage.

With the final race complete, Team USA’s Olympic lineup is set.

Women’s team

The women’s singles group is anchored by three proven competitors who enter the Olympic season with momentum and experience.

Summer Britcher will make her fourth Olympic appearance in Milan Cortina. After leading the overall World Cup standings following the Christmas break — a feat she also accomplished a decade ago — Britcher has reestablished herself as a medal contender this season, highlighted by two World Cup victories.

Emily Fischnaller is headed to her third Olympics, bringing one of the most resilient résumés in the field. After suffering a crash at the 2018 Games that resulted in a broken neck and back, Fischnaller returned to win bronze at the 2019 World Championships and repeated that result in 2025, while remaining a consistent World Cup podium threat.

Ashley Farquharson will compete in women’s singles at her second Olympic Games. After repeatedly finishing just off the podium earlier in her career, the 2022 Olympian broke through this season with her first World Cup medal in Park City, then backed it up with another podium finish the following week in Lake Placid.

In women’s doubles, Chevonne Forgan and Sophia Kirkby return to the Olympics with a strong international résumé. The pair own two World Championship medals and finished the 2024–25 season ranked third in the world.

Men’s team

On the men’s side, Team USA features a mix of established sliders and emerging talent.

Jonny Gustafson returns to the Olympics after debuting in Beijing. Since 2022, he steadily has climbed into the sport’s upper tier, earning podium finishes at both World Cup and world championship events as he pursues his first Olympic medal.

Matt Greiner will make his Olympic debut in men’s singles. A standout at the junior level with two Junior World Championship medals, Greiner earned his Olympic nomination with a career-best 15th-place finish at the Winterberg World Cup in his second season on the national team.

In men’s doubles, Zack DiGregorio and Sean Hollander return as 2022 Olympians after emerging as World Cup contenders in the current quad. The duo won at Lake Placid in 2023 and most recently claimed silver at the Park City World Cup in December 2025, while also contributing to seven World Cup relay medals.

Joining them are first-time Olympians Marcus Mueller and Ansel Haugsjaa. The reigning 2024 Junior World Champions have made a rapid transition to the senior ranks, earning silver at the Cortina test event and gold at the Lake Placid World Cup. Despite their youth, the pair has delivered veteran-level consistency in just their second World Cup season.
