The mixed doubles curling teams of Sweden, Canada, Great Britain, and Switzerland all started the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics on the right foot with wins on Day 1 of the competition.
Here's a look at all four matches, the early standings, and the schedule for Day 2...

Sweden picked up the first win of the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics thanks in part to five stolen points on the night. The Swedish brother/sister duo of Isabella Wrana and Rasmus Wrana stole a point in the sixth end to force a concession by Korea.
The Wranas came in as the 2024 world champions, and are competing together in the Olympics for the first time.
Canada 10, Czechia 5
| Canada | Czechia | |
| 1 | 1st end | 0 |

Canada stole four points in the second end, and kept a sizeable lead throughout. Czechia attempted a double takeout on the final throw of the seventh end, and got the point by inches, but it didn't matter. They conceded the eighth to give Canada the opening day win.
The Canadian duo of Jocelyn Peterman and Brett Gallant, a married couple, are both playing in their second Olympics, and first in mixed doubles.
Switzerland 9, Estonia 7

Estonia, competing in Olympic curling for the first time, scored a huge four points in the eighth and final end to force extra ends against Switzerland.
Facing a crowded house on their final stone, Estonia's Marie Kaldvee's throw wasn't quite firm enough to clear Switzerland's stones on the button, and the Swiss couple of Yannick Schwaller and Briar Schwaller-Hürlimann scored two for the dramatic win in the bonus end.
Great Britain 8, Norway 6
| Great Britain | Norway | |
| 0 | 1st end | 1 |
| 3 | 2nd end | 0 |

| 0 | 5th end | 1 |

Eleven takeouts was enough to lift Great Britain's Jennifer Dodds and Bruce Mouat to a two-point win over the defending mixed doubles Olympic silver medalists.
The two teams were tied at 3-3 after three ends, and 4-4 after five. Great Britain scored three in the sixth and would not relinquish the lead.
Both teams are considered strong medal contenders coming into Cortina. Dodds and Mouat, both medalists in men's and women's curling at the Beijing Olympics, finished second at the most recent world championships.
