The dominant force in men’s Alpine skiing this decade, Marco Odermatt arrives at his second Winter Olympics with sights set on a potential hat trick of gold medals.
The 28-year-old Swiss superstar has been practically untouchable since capturing giant slalom gold in his debut Olympics in 2022, claiming the overall World Cup title every season since. Odermatt also collected nine discipline-specific season titles in that span.
A heavy favorite to defend his giant slalom Olympic title in Italy, Odermatt hopes to add super-G and downhill gold medals to his ballooning collection of accolades. If successful, Odermatt would become the first men's Alpine skier to win three golds at a single Games since French skier Jean-Claude Killy in 1968.
