Madison Chock and Evan Bates (USA)

Off-Ice Status: Married in 2024💍

On-Ice History: Partners since 2011

After completing a spellbinding paso doble in Saturday's team event and placing first, Madison Chock and Evan Bates took center stage skating to Lenny Kravitz during the rhythm dance on Monday. Chock and Bates have been hungry for the gold since being left off the ice dance podium in Beijing 2022. The pair started dating in 2017, adopted two toy poodles (Stella and Henry) in 2018, and got engaged in 2022 during a vacation in Thailand. The couple got married in Hawaii, where Chock’s family is from, in June 2024.

Chock spoke about the evolution of their relationship in the Netflix’s documentary series Glitter & Gold: Ice Dancing, explaining how 2026 will be their last competitive season, so “the stakes are higher because it is the last hurrah.”

Charlène Guignard and Marco Fabbri (Italy)

Off-Ice Status: Dating since 2009 💕

On-Ice History: Partners since 2010

Dating since 2009, the Italian powerhouse ice dance duo Charlène Guignard and Marco Fabbri have been together for 17 years. On Monday, Guignard and Fabbri entered onto the ice with a Backstreet Boys medley. The pair rocked their bodies to an energetic dance routine filled with lifts and twizzles, proving themselves to be a great technical team.

Their coach Barbara Fusar-Poli cheered them on from the boards; she competed 20 years ago when the Winter Olympics were held in Torino, Italy. Guignard and Fabbri shared a smooch after hitting their final pose, soaking in the limelight in their home country.

Diana Davis and Gleb Smolkin (Georgia)

Off-Ice Status: Married since 2022 👰

On-Ice History: Partners since 2018

The married couple Diana Davis and Gleb Smolkin, who previously competed for Russia in 2022, are now representing Georgia in the 2026 Winter Olympics. In December, Davis opened up on social media about having bilateral sensorineural hearing loss. The condition, which she developed at only two years old, impacts her speech and makes it difficult for her to hear certain sounds and frequencies. She’s able to hear music well and feel the emotion, but often can’t understand the words. Davis shared this experience to uplift those with similar challenges.

Davis and Smolkin rocked the ice on Monday, hitting each beat with energy and power. Davis began the routine by holding Smolkin’s face as they gazed passionately into each other’s eyes, afterward sharing a snog.

Emilea Zingas and Vadym Kolesnik (USA)

Off-Ice Status: Dating since 2022 🥰

On-Ice History: Partners since 2022

The Michigan-based ice skating duo has burst onto the scene in their Olympic debut at Milan Cortina. Vadym Kosenik, who was born in Ukraine, just obtained U.S. citizenship last summer. The war in Ukraine has affected Kosenik’s life drastically, and he has poured his emotions into skating.

"The first time I skated with Emilea I felt something special," Kolesnik said. "I felt like I can be myself. She opens up in the way that I want to skate and that's how it comes out — freedom."

Emilea Zingas jumped into Kolesnik’s arms as he pulled her into a tight embrace immediately after completing their routine. Johnny Weir described their dance as “sharp, intricate and seductive.” This rhythm dance event was incredibly meaningful to them, as Kolesnik was able to fly two family members from Ukraine for their first Olympics.

Milla Ruud Reitan and Nikolaj Majorov (Sweden)

Off-Ice Status: Dating 💘

On-dance history: Partners since 2023

Milla Ruud Reitan is a Norwegian-born figure skater who received Swedish citizenship in January, just in time to compete in her first Olympics alongside her boyfriend, Nikolaj Majorov. Reitan and Majorov skated to Ricky Martin’s "Livin’ La Vida Loca" in the rhythm dance.

Marking Sweden’s first time competing in Olympic ice dance, the couple sealed their top-20 spot with a passionate lip-lock at the end of their routine.

Marie-Jade Lauriault and Romain Le Gac (Canada)

Off-Ice Status: Married since 2015 💒

On-Ice History: Partners since 2014

Married and skating together for over a decade, Marie-Jade Lauriault and Romain Le Gac initially represented Le Gac’s birth country of France when they first partnered in 2014. The couple made their Olympic debut at the PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games in 2018, and in 2020 they decided to begin competing for Canada, where Lauriault was born and raised.

The pair faced a difficult challenge when they found out in early December they could not use the Prince music they had built their program around. After changing their routine with not much time before the Olympics, Lauriault and Le Gac successfully secured their spot in Wednesday’s Olympic ice dance final alongside their fellow Canada teammates.
