Switzerland 8, United States 3

Switzerland broke a close game open with three points in the sixth and a steal of two more in the seventh of a victory over Team USA on Thursday.

The U.S. shot just 79 percent on the day while Switzerland shot 92 percent.

After giving up the steal in the seventh, the Americans subbed in Rich Ruohonen, who became the oldest American to compete in a Winter Olympics medal event.

With the loss, the U.S. falls to 1-1. They'll next take on Canada on Friday at 3:05 a.m. ET.

Thursday was the first game of the tournament for Switzerland (1-0). They'll next face Czechia at the same time on Friday.

Great Britain 6, Sweden 3

In a rematch of the gold medal match from the 2022 Olympics, Great Britain got the best of Sweden this time around.

Bruce Mouat's team opened the game with two points and never looked back. They stole another point in the fifth, and finished with two in the seventh on the way to the win.

Mouat shot 100 percent on draws and 88 percent on takeouts in the win. Great Britain shot 90 percent on takeouts with 34 in the match as a team, compared to just 21 takeouts on a 71 percent shot success rate for Sweden.

With the loss, Sweden, the defending gold medalists, falls to 0-2 in Cortina. They'll look for win No. 1 at 1:05 p.m. ET on Friday when they take on Canada.

Great Britain will hit the ice at 3:05 a.m. ET on Friday to take on Italy.

Germany 5, Norway 4

A three-point third for Germany was the only time either team scored more than a single point in any end. The lead was enough to carry the Germans to a victory.

Germany had three players record double-digit takeouts in the win. Skip Marc Muskatewitz had 11. Benny Kapp led the way with 16, and Felix Messenzehl added 10.

Germany (1-1) will return to the ice at 1:05 p.m. ET on Friday to take on Italy.

Friday was Norway's (0-1) first game of the tournament. They'll next face China at 3:05 a.m. ET on Friday.
