The U.S. men's curling team was off for the final session of round-robin play on Thursday, but other games on the ice had implications for their semifinal hopes.

Here's a look at all four matches, and who will be moving on to the playoffs in Cortina...

Norway 8, Canada 6

Norway got the win they needed a win in Thursday's round-robin finale to advance to the tournament semifinals. Now, they've set up a rematch with the Canadians later on Thursday. With the win, they also eliminated the United States men's team from contention.

The Norwegians opened the contest with three points in the first end and never gave up that lead. They added two in the third and two more in the fifth to go into the break up, 7-2.

Canada tried to mount a second-half comeback, starting in the sixth. Norway's final throw of the end came up short, sitting inches behind two Canadian stones. Brad Jacobs responded by tapping that red stone out while avoiding his own rocks, giving Canada three points to cut the lead to two.

In the seventh, Jacobs final throw took out two Norwegian stones in the four-foot. With the hammer, Magnus Ramsfjell opted for a takeout throw rather than a draw, but was unsuccessful. He got out one Canadian stone but not the other, and his own rock flew out of the house, allowing Canada to steal one and pull within one, 7-6.

The Norwegians added a single in the eighth, and Canada blanked the ninth to maintain hammer for the final end while down two.

In the 10th, Jacobs' first throw didn't curl. He got one Norwegian stone on the right side of the house, but left two others on the left. Ramsfjell then stepped to the hack, threw a bullet and took out the only Canadian stone while sitting his own. Since Canada needed at least two points and didn't have any stones even close to scoring position, they conceded the final rock, giving Norway the win.

With the win, Norway (5-4) clinches the No. 3 seed in the semifinals. Canada (7-2) had already clinched the No. 2 seed on Wednesday.

With Norway's win, Team USA was eliminated from advancing to the semis. Team Casper finished round-robin play on Wednesday 4-5 and needed Norway and Italy to both lose on Thursday to advance. They now leave Cortina in 5th place.

The two teams will play in the semifinals at 1:35 p.m. ET. The winner will advance to the gold medal game on Saturday, and the loser will play in the bronze medal match on Friday.

Switzerland 9, Italy 5

Italy needed to win on Thursday to earn a berth in the semifinals of their home Olympics, but they needed to beat the best team in Cortina to do it, and couldn't make it happen.

Leading 7-5 in the ninth, Switzerland's Benoît Schwarz-van Berkel took out Italy's lone stone with his first throw, setting up a two-point end for the Swiss and their final four-point lead.

Italy conceded the 10th end. The Italians, led by four-time Olympian Joel Retornaz, finished 4-5 and 6th in the standings.

Switzerland finished round-robin play a perfect 9-0, clinching the No. 1 seed in the semifinals. They'll now face No. 4 Great Britain (5-4) in the semifinals later on Thursday at 1:35 p.m. ET.
