TAP INTO TAHITI 2024 CASTING CALL
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS & TERMS

THE TAP INTO TAHITI 2024 CASTING CALL IS SUBJECT TO THESE TERMS 
AND ALL FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS

Please note: the following eligibility requirements and terms must be met in order to proceed with the entry process for The Tap Into Tahiti 2024 Casting Call (the "Casting Call"). 

1. Only one Submission per person. 

2. The Casting Call consists of two (2) Phases as fully described below. 

Phase 1 of the Casting Call will open on October 27, 2023 at 12:01am ET and close on November 25, 2023 at 11:59pm ET. 

Phase 2 of the Casting Call will open on January 1, 2024 at 12:01am ET and close on March 16, 2024 at 11:59am ET. 

3. You must be a permanent, legal United States (“U.S.”) resident of the fifty (50) states of the U.S. and the District of Columbia and be at least 18 years of age, or the age of majority in your state of residence as of October 27, 2023 to participate. 

4. NBCUniversal Media LLC (“NBCUniversal” or “Producer”) and Enteractive Solutions Group, Inc./Sullivan Compliance Company (“SCC”) are the administrators of the Casting Call (collectively referred to herein as the “Casting Call Entities” or “us/our/we”). Visa U.S.A. Inc. is a coverage sponsor of Producer’s broadcast of the 2024 Olympic Games and a supporter of this Casting Call (“Coverage Sponsor”). Note that the employees, officers, directors and agents of the Casting Call Entities and the Coverage Sponsor, and/or of any of their respective licensees, assigns, partners, parents, affiliated and subsidiary companies, and the immediate family (spouse, mother, father, sister, brother, daughter or son, regardless of where they live) or members of their same households (whether related or not) of such employees, officers, directors and agents, are not eligible to participate in the entry process or become participants in the Casting Call.

5. You understand, agree to, and must be prepared to demonstrate the following:

a) You must be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally, more details below.
b) You must have a U.S. Passport valid through January 8, 2025
c) You must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. as of October 27, 2023 through September 15, 2024 (“Eligibility Period”).
d) You must be available to work for NBCUniversal from February 15, 2024 to March 5, 2024.
e) You must be available to work for NBCUniversal from April 1, 2024 to September 15, 2024 and/or any other similar dates as requested by the Casting Call Entities.
f)  You must be willing and able to produce sponsored content for the Coverage Sponsor. 
g) You must be willing to enter and agree to additional sets of terms with NBCUniversal if selected: 
    (i)    an NBCUniversal Talent Offer Letter covering any production work duties; and 
    (ii)    a Custom Content Performer Agreement covering the sponsored content for the Coverage Sponsor.
h) You must voluntarily submit to and complete a background check, in accordance with applicable laws and execute all documents required by NBCUniversal in connection with such background check.
i)  You must be willing to make NBCUniversal promotional and trade appearances – i.e., NBCUniversal owned and operated shows and platforms, industry conferences/events, etc. and be included in promotional releases. 
j)  You have not and will not disparage NBCUniversal, Coverage Sponsor, the Olympic Games, the International Olympic Committee (“IOC”), the International Paralympic Committee (“IPC”), the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (“USOPC”), the United States Olympic and Paralympic Properties (“USOPP”), nor the ISA World Surfing Games.
k)  During the Eligibility Period, you must not have any competitive affiliations with any other payment services provider, and while on-location with NBCUniversal during working periods, you cannot engage in any third-party endorsements, sponsorships, or advertising. 

6. You must not now be a candidate for public office, and if selected to participate in Phase 2 or as the Finalist, you must agree not to become a candidate for public office until after the initial broadcast of all programs in which you appear.  

 

PHASE 1: 

  • In 30 seconds or less, describe a gold-medal worthy day at the beach. Center the narrative around the medal worthy moments of that day. 

  • Use #TapIntoTahiti2024 and tag @NBCOlympics to submit your best beach-side broadcasting to TikTok (“Entry Video”). 

  • You do not need to be a surfing expert, just call it as you see it. Like the wave riders, show your technical expertise accompanied by your unique style and how you would tell the story to captivate audiences. 

  • Entry Video must be 30 seconds or less.

  • The content of the Entry Video should be in line with the Olympic values, excellence, friendship, and respect. 

  • Entry Videos must present the actual person, voice, and likeness and not be a false or fake representation in any way. 

  • If you use TikTok native tools, sounds, text, captions, filters, latest trends, you must credit the use of said tools.

CASTING for PHASE 2

7. We will advance three (3) to five (5) participants based on our favorite Entry Videos and adherence to our Eligibility Requirements & Terms, each in our sole discretion.

8. If you are selected as a Phase 2 Participant, you will be notified via direct message by NBCUniversal between December 1, 2023 and December 29, 2023. Phase 2 Participants will have three (3) business days to respond to our notification or they may be disqualified from the Casting Call.

9. Phase 2 Participants will be required to complete a Participant Application and any other documentation as requested by the Casting Call Entities.  

10. Phase 2 Participants must be available and willing to travel to Puerto Rico between February 15, 2024 to March 5, 2024 to attend the 2024 ISA World Surfing Games. Phase 2 Contestants must accept the responsibility to make any necessary arrangements with their employer and family in anticipation of their absence from home and/or work. All dates and locations listed in these Eligibility Requirements & Terms are subject to change in our sole discretion. 

 

PHASE 2: 

  • While attending the 2024 World Surfing Games, Phase 2 Participants will be given specific content direction by our producers such as being asked to visit certain locations and present on different surfing topics on certain platforms. 

  • Using hashtag #TapIntoTahiti2024 and tagging @NBCOlympics, Phase 2 Participants will be given specific content direction by our producers to submit a final video (“Final Video”). 

  • Final Video must be two (2) minutes or less.

  • The content of the Final Video should be in line with the Olympic values, excellence, friendship, and respect.

  • Final Videos must present the actual person, voice, and likeness and not be a false or fake representation in any way. 

  • If you use TikTok native tools, sounds, text, captions, filters, latest trends, you must credit the use of said tools.

11. If the 2024 ISA World Surfing Games are postponed, canceled, or the Casting Call Entities change direction for any reason, our producers will provide additional instructions for the Final Video. 

12. From March 2, 2024 to March 16, 2024, online viewers can visit www.nbcolympics.com/tapintotahiti2024 and vote for their favorite Final Video. 

13. Votes will have no bearing on the selection of the Finalist. 

14. That said, Phase 2 Participants are expected to post, at our producer’s discretion, a minimum of two (2) significant promotional unique posts to their followers while the voting window is open and are encouraged to leverage their networks, communities, and followers to generate views and engagements.

15. Phase 2 Participants understand and agree that the posts originating from their handles may need to be geographically restricted to U.S. social fans.

16. Phase 2 Participants understand and agree that their posts must remain on handles for a minimum of thirty (30) days.

 

CASTING for THE FINALIST

17.  We will advance one (1) participant based on our favorite Final Video and adherence to our Eligibility Requirements & Terms, each in our sole discretion.

18. The Finalist will be notified on or around March 18, 2024. The Finalist will have two (2) business days to respond to our notification or they may be disqualified from the Casting Call.

19. Finalist will be offered the role of guest correspondent for NBCUniversal’s broadcast of the surfing competition in Tahiti, French Polynesia for the 2024 Olympic Games to be held on July 27, 2024 through July 30, 2024. Finalist must accept the responsibility to make any necessary arrangements with their employer and family in anticipation of their absence from home and/or work. All dates and locations listed in these Eligibility Requirements & Terms are subject to change in the Casting Call Entities sole discretion. Finalist will receive payment, travel, room, board, and associated expenses in accordance with NBCUniversal’s production rates as set forth in the NBCUniversal Talent Offer Letter.

20. The Finalist must be available for travel no later than July 20, 2024.  Finalist must have all necessary travel documentation, including European Travel Pre-Authorization, and be eligible to receive media credentials from the IOC.

21. The name of the Finalist will be posted on www.nbcolympics.com/tapintotahiti2024.

 

ADDITIONAL TERMS 

22. Phase 2 Participants and Finalist will be required to timely complete and sign the Casting Call Entities full standard release, interview, screening process and/or a civil, criminal, financial, driver-history, social media, and any other type of background check (and any other required documentation) deemed necessary by the Casting Call Entities in their sole discretion. 

23. Components not specifically mentioned as being included are the sole responsibility of the Finalist including, but not limited to lost wages, accommodations, and/or transportation. All federal, state, or other taxes are the sole responsibility of the Finalist. 

24. Any expenses participants incur during the entry process and the Casting Call including travel costs and materials preparation (videos, internet etc.) are the participants’ sole responsibility. Casting Call Entities will not reimburse participants for these expenses. 

25. You understand that if you choose to participate on location that you must comply with all rules and regulations with respect to taping and all security and safety rules, including any Covid-19 mask mandates and vaccination status and/or testing requirements.

26. As noted in Rule 5(k), while on-location with NBCUniversal during Phase 2 and as a Finalist, you cannot engage in any third-party endorsements, sponsorships, or advertising without written permission from NBCUniversal. This means you cannot partner with any third party to produce, promote, and/or post content while on-location.  Additionally, Visa U.S.A. Inc. a Coverage Sponsor of Producer’s broadcast of the 2024 Olympic Games and therefore you cannot have any competitive affiliations with payment services providers during the Eligibility Period (October 27, 2023 through September 15, 2024). 

27. That said, NBCUniversal and SCC, as the Casting Call Entities, are solely responsible for the administration of the Casting Call and Coverage Sponsor will have no liability or responsibility for any claim arising in connection with your Submission(s) and/or participation in the Casting Call. 

28. All decisions of Casting Call Entities are final and absolute and not subject to inquiry or appeal. 

29. Casting Call Entities reserve the right to make changes to the casting and production schedule. 

30. Casting Call Entities reserve the right to not hold any participant applicant casting call, or to modify the manner in which they conduct such casting call.

31. Casting Call Entities have the unlimited right to assign these Eligibility Requirements & Terms. 

32. Casting Call Entities are under no obligation to exercise any of the rights granted by you under these Eligibility Requirements & Terms.

33. You understand that your personal information is collected and used in accordance with the www.nbcolympics.com website NBCUniversal’s privacy policy located at www.nbcuniversal.com/privacy/participant.

34. To the extent that the www.nbcolympics.com website Terms of Service, located at www.nbcuniversal.com/terms?intake=NBCSportsGroupOlympics (the “Website Terms”), are not in conflict with these Eligibility Requirements & Terms, the Website Terms apply. 

 

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

35. Do not include or reference any third-party brand names, products, services, trademarks, copyrights, logos, trade dress.

36. Do not include any promotional content in your Submission(s). Do not sponsor the Submission(s) with any third party by way of a handshake tool, paid partnership, branded content tools, or the like. 

37. Do not include or reference personal information (e.g., your name, e-mail address or phone number); if your Submission contains personal information, it is your sole responsibility to remove all such personal information before posting it on any social media platform, including TikTok.

38. Do not include content, images or other materials (a) that are misleading, indecent, offensive, sexually explicit, tortious, disparaging, defamatory, slanderous, or libelous, or depicts an unsafe practice; (b) that reflect, advocate, or promote bigotry, racism, hatred, harm, or exploitation of or against any class, group or individual, discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age; or (c) that are in violation of any applicable laws.

39. We may display your Submission(s) across our platforms, including but not limited to:

  • On the Casting Call’s website located at www.nbcolympics.com/tapintotahiti2024;

  • On our social accounts; 

  • In promotions and advertising for the Casting Call; and

  • On-air during any NBCUniversal broadcast.

40. You understand that there will be no payment or prize for your Submission(s) or the use of your Submission(s).  You understand that if your Submission(s) is selected for use, such use will not be considered an employment opportunity. If you do not want your Submission(s) to be used and broadcast by the Casting Call Entities, then please do not participate.

41. You grant the Casting Call Entities the exclusive, royalty-free, and irrevocable rights to use, reproduce, copy, publish, display, distribute, perform, translate, adapt, modify, and otherwise exploit your Submission(s) in any medium, worldwide, in perpetuity, without needing to ask for your approval or pay you.

42. You promise that you have the only right to grant these rights in the Submission(s) to the Casting Call Entities and that your Submission won't violate anyone else's rights, like copyright, trademark, or privacy, or cause legal problems like defamation or breach of contract.

43. By sending your Submission(s), you agree that Casting Call Entities can record, use, and reuse your TikTok username, voice, actions, appearance, name, photos, performance, and any related materials, even if they modify them, on their own terms.

44. You agree that Casting Call Entities shall have no obligation to give you credit for your Submission(s), but in their sole discretion may elect to do so.

45. Your Submission(s) will not be acknowledged or returned.

46. You agree that you are sending your Submission(s) voluntarily, and not in confidence, and that no confidential relationship is intended or created between the Casting Call Entities, on the one hand, and you, on the other hand, by your Submission(s). 

47. YOU AGREE THAT YOU HEREBY RELEASE, DISCHARGE, AND HOLD HARMLESS THE CASTING CALL ENTITIES AND THE COVERAGE SPONSOR (INCLUDING EMPLOYEES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS AND AGENTS, AND ANY OF THEIR RESPECTIVE LICENSEES, ASSIGNS, PARTNERS, PARENTS, AFFILIATED AND SUBSIDIARY COMPANIES), WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, OR CAUSES OF ACTION THAT YOU MAY HAVE IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR SUBMISSION(S) AND/OR PARTICIPATION IN THE TAP INTO TAHITI 2024 CASTING CALL.
