Overview
The last time the Olympics included lacrosse competition, Theodore Roosevelt was the president of the United States. After 120 years, the sport returns to the Olympic stage in Los Angeles.
At the Games, lacrosse will feature teams of six players attempting to throw (via a stick) a small rubber ball into their opponent’s goal, while also protecting their own net. Whoever scores the most points by the time the four eight-minute quarters conclude is deemed the victor.
The United States and Canada are widely considered the best lacrosse nations, having won the most championships during international play.
What are the Olympic lacrosse events for 2028?
Lacrosse at the 2028 LA Games will include two tournaments:
- Men's six-team tournament
- Women's six-team tournament
After a series of qualifying games take place, squads with the top records will advance to the gold and bronze medal games.

Where will the lacrosse competition be held at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics?
All lacrosse games will be held at Exposition Park Stadium. The open-air stadium in Los Angeles serves as the official home to the MLS' Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) and NWSL's Angel City Football Club.
Olympic flag football will also take place at Exposition Park Stadium.
