The U.S. Olympic women’s volleyball roster for the Paris Games was announced, with a roster full of gold medal–winning Olympic veterans. Eight of the 12 players set to compete in Paris were part of the historic team that took home gold at Tokyo 2020.
Leading the team in her fourth Olympics is captain and outside hitter Jordan Larson. In addition to her gold medal from Tokyo, Larson earned a silver and bronze at London 2012 and Rio 2016. Fellow outside hitter Kelsey Robinson Cook, also a member of the 2016 and 2020 teams, will be returning to the Games for the third time.
Middle blockers Chiaka Ogbogu and Haleigh Washington, setter Jordyn Poulter, libero Justine Wong-Orantes, and opposites Annie Drews and Jordan Thompson will make their sophomore appearances at the Paris Olympics.
Four new faces join the team this year. Setter Lauren Carlini, outside hitters Kathryn Plummer and Avery Skinner, and middle blocker Dana Rettke all will make their Olympic debuts in Paris.
The alternate has not yet been announced.
The U.S. has competed in the women's volleyball tournament at the last ten Olympics, and have collected six medals – one gold (2020), three silver (1984, 2008 and 2012) and two bronze medals (1992 and 2016).
The U.S. women’s team went into the 2024 season ranked No. 2 in the world.
Indoor volleyball at the 2024 Olympic Games will take place at South Paris Arena 1. Play kicks off on Saturday, July 27, and will continue throughout the entire duration of the Games. The final gold medal match will be played on Sunday, August 11 at 7:00 a.m. ET.
