FOLLOW ALONG HERE WITH LIVE UPDATES FROM TODAY'S COMPETITION AT THE PARALYMPICS.

The sled hockey action continued Tuesday, March 10, with the final four group stage contests.

The United States officially qualified for the semifinals Monday and entered Tuesday's competition looking to lock up the 1-seed. How did the Americans — and the rest of the field — fare on day three?

Here’s a look at the standings at the end of the second day of the tournament.

Sled Hockey Results, Day 2

Italy began the day's competition with its first-ever win on the Paralympic stage, beating Germany 2-1. Nils Larch and Nikko Landeros scored for the Italians.

In perhaps the most evenly-matched pairing of the tournament so far, unbeaten teams China and the United States battled for the fifth time on international (either Paralympic or world championship) ice. The Americans came out on top, 7-1, officially securing the top seed entering the semifinals.

Canada and Czechia also entered the day eyeing a win in their group, but after a hard-fought showing of defensive grit from both sides, Canada emerged victorious, 4-1 — the country's smallest margin of victory so far in Milan. Before Tuesday's game, neither Canadian goalie had given up a single goal throughout the country's first two games. The Czechs also put up three times more shots on goal (12) than Canada's two previous opponents combined (4).

Slovakia exploded for a surprise 5-1 win over Japan to close the pool round. Captain Martin Joppa scored twice and contributed to two other goals. Heading into the game, Slovakia had only notched one point through two games in Milan.

Below are the current standings, updated through the end of competition on Tuesday, March 10.

How did Team USA do Tuesday in sled hockey?

The United States' 7-1 win over China marked yet another historic day for Declan Farmer, who recorded his third hat trick in three games in Milan and surpassed Canadian Billy Bridges' record for all-time points on the Paralympic stage. Farmer's five points in the game (3 goals, 2 assists) increased the mark to 58.

His 11 total goals so far in Milan also tie the record for most tallies in a single Paralympics — a number he shares with Bridges (2006), fellow American Sylvester Flis (2002), and himself from the 2018 Games.

"We've had a good team for a while — I think it's as simple as that. I've had great linemates, great teammates, that we've all pushed each other to get better," Farmer told NBC's Andrea Joyce after the game, shifting the kudos to his colleagues. "We're never satisfied with where we're at. We're always trying to learn from one another, and it's just that kind of growth mindset that our culture has had for a while."

Five-time Paralympian and three-time captain Josh Pauls broke a nearly 12-minute-long scoring drought to open the scoring. On the United States' third power play of the game, the 33-year-old defender picked up the loose puck in the middle of the ice, dragged it out toward a faceoff dot, and rifled a shot through three Chinese players into the back of the net. Farmer added his first of three goals less than three minutes later.

Farmer and longtime friend Brody Roybal spearheaded a four-goal effort from the United States in the second. Roybal scored twice, once on an assist from Farmer, for his first two goals of the 2026 Paralympics, and Farmer potted the Americans' first even-strength tally of the game.

Liam Cunningham, who turned 18 on March 5, netted the sixth goal with just under one-and-a-half minutes left in the frame — another power play goal.

The United States only recorded one goal in the final period, scored once again by Farmer. Tian Jintao, who also recorded hat tricks in his first two games of the 2026 Paralympics, powered a shot through traffic from just below the blue line to put China on the board with 10 minutes, 32 seconds to go.

American goalie Jen Lee stopped eight of China's nine shots on net. The four-time Paralympian has only ever allowed four goals on Paralympic ice.

The final score of 7-1 marked the smallest margin of victory for the United States at these Games. Both countries had won each of their two previous games by double digits.

China took a staggering nine penalties throughout the game. The United States, which entered the matchup with just one power play goal so far in Milan, went five-for-nine against China.

When is Team USA's next sled hockey game?

The United States (3-0) is scheduled to play face Czechia (2-1) in the semifinals Thursday, March 12, at 9:35 a.m. ET.

The action will stream live on Peacock and NBCOlympics.com.
